We are excited to announce the formation of the Washington Mass Timber Accelerator (colloquially, MassTAc), as the central hub of mass timber resources, funding, and strategy in the state of Washington. 

Mass Timber use in the built environment is taking off in Washington, in the United States, and globally. The State of Washington is home to over 50 mass timber construction projects, a growing supply chain, and tremendous expertise in mass timber design, manufacturing, construction, and sustainable forest management. 

Why does mass timber matter for Washington? Because through building with mass timber we can reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment; construct healthier and more resilient buildings that feel good to be in; lessen the impact of construction on the neighborhood; create high-quality jobs in industrialized construction; support the State’s rural communities; and improve forest ecosystem health.

There is significant work to be done to realize all of this potential, and we appreciate your support!
